Have you taken the time
Have you thought to look around
Are you still there
or have I rendered useless
I'll play against the odds for a chance
I'll stay and live for something
When I no longer have a part of my notion
I can't help but find myself
Drag restless in the night
I can't help but find myself
Drag restless in the night
I never thought it could molder
As I drift away I'm scared I get older
Without the bonds that kept me where I am
Have you taken the time
Have you thought to look around
Are you still there
or have I rendered useless
All the time I've spent deceived in a false presumption
I know it all too well
A feeling I fear I know too well
Neglecting my time won't change my entity
Neglecting my time won't change my entity
Speaking through ice
So bitter to its touch
A sound so arrogant
So irrational
How can you live your life this way?
How can you condemn me to silence?
I did everything I ever could
I refrain from ever hearing my voice
Steering away from pain and concern
All their perplexities
I've placed them over the clouds to lay rest
As I'm forced into disarray
I thought I'd secure outlasting the harmony
But is it worth anything
Wasting away (wasting away)
When I've found my purpose
Through the lives that I can't change
Through the lives that I can't change
I'd never change
I select Matches as my favorite song because it literally makes me scream along. I've had this album on repeat for months. The Northern has this loving and vivid image that punches you in the face and pulls you into their emotionally laden story. These all feel like songs I've literally lived in my life and I know them all intimately. Solstice is an amazing piece of my inner reality and I need more of The Northern. Melodic, great synth, well written lyrics, brutal and addictively groovy. zansatsu0
At first I wasn't so sure about getting this one, it was part of a long list of music I had to listen to, and I knew that at the time I liked it and kept it in my list to buy for a reason but couldn't remember why, but I do remember now, this is way too intense to be forgotten, you made a new fan to this day and will follow you closely from now on! Real powerful drums and punchy guitar leads, interlaced with lovely atmospheric piano.
This is basically a more melodic Disarmonia Mundi. Worth every second. dijim
